Dear Friends,
I hope your New Year is off to a wonderful start!
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our performances and activities in 2007.
This year has been extremely exciting for Sidra Bell Dance New York. We were in residence at Stella Adler Studio of Acting in December and January. "Chimeras", a new work, premiered in January at Stella Adler's MAD AIR Series and was performed by Nuttapong Charayvarath, Jordana Deveau, Alexandra Johnson, Troy Ogilvie, Amber Lee Parker and Ricardo Zayas.
In January, I traveled to Austin, Texas, where I created a new work for Ballet Austin's New American/Talent Competition in which I was a finalist. Substrata premiered on February 14-17, with an original score by my father Dennis Bell that featured two classical singers, Suzanne Fiore and Sarah Crispo. The piece was awarded an audience prize on three nights of its run at The Paramount Theater.
