†About GODLESS:
†A†show about atheism from the point of view of someone raised in a strict conservative catholic environment who, at†age 13, began to reject his own family's faith, organised religion in†general, and eventually, the notion of god.
Rarely discussing his atheism†in youth†for fear of the typical annoying attempts to "save" his soul, and gradually finding like-minded individuals and information, but finding most material on the subject too academic and a bit dull.
In his second full stage show, Jaime Carrera addresses several hypocrisies of the church, from the convenience of god's forgiveness in confession, to love thy neighbor†though god hates fags, equating atheists with satanists (who worship another imaginary entity), and the ever-popular "fear of god".
Mixing humour and performance to create a pop art version of blasphemous fun!

About JAIME CARRERA:
†Jaime Carrera was born and raised in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
At 17, he moved with his parents to Kansas, completed high school and initiated his interest in photography by learning to develop and print film in a community college course.
Jaime is mostly a self-taught artist who has never studied art formally.
He relocated to Chicago in 1997 to pursue an art career and within a year he began exhibiting his work professionally, beginning at the Around The Coyote Arts Festival.
He now lives and works in Minneapolis, where he had his first solo show, Domestica, at the Flatland Gallery in 2002. Since then, his artwork has been shown at various galleries and spaces, such as Intermedia Arts, Rogue Buddha Gallery and Outsiders And Others Gallery.

9. Massage Therapy with Megan Flood

Hello Dance folks-

Here is a warm invitation to visit me in my newest incarnation - as a nationally certified massage therapist (!). I am currently practicing at Benessere Body in Balance, a wellness clinic in St. Anthony Main (*about 5 minutes by car or bus from Hennepin Center for the Arts, or a 15 minute walk from Hennepin Center for the Arts).

*Benessere has recently added a DANCER DISCOUNT - when you call to make an appointment with me, simply mention that you are a dancer, and you will receive a $10 discount.
I love working with movers- so would be honored to work with any of you.
If you have questions about what I do, or if the work is appropriate for you or a loved one, please don't hesitate to contact me at Benessere (info@benesserebodyinbalance.com, or 612.378.WELL (9355) ) -- essentially, I believe that bodywork needs to be part of everyone's health care and self care- both to help us stay healthy and happy, and to assist us in healing from injury, pain, or illness.

Details:
Benessere's address: 125 Main Street S.E., Suite 237. Minneapolis, MN 55414
Benessere's phone: 612.378.WELL (9355)
Benessere's website: www.benesserebodyinbalance.com
Benessere's hours: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 7PM, Saturday and Sunday, 12noon - 6PM
(I am available for appointments Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.)

*Benessere has free parking available for clients- ask about this when you call to make your appointment.

The work I do is based in Trigger Point Therapy (anatomically specific, great for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and chronic pain management), Swedish-type relaxation massage, and in the information and wisdom that we all embody as dancers (I am particularly influenced by Body Mind Centering and contact improvisation).
I also have a special interest (and extra training) in working with oncology patients.

Other practitioners: Benessere's staff also includes a wonderful chiropractor (knowledgeable and gentle), a nutritionist, several neuromuscular therapists, a personal trainer, a Pilates instructor, and acupuncture. I can highly recommend each of these practitioners- this is a wonderful group of healers, and a tremendous resource. (Check out Benessere's website, www.benesserebodyinbalance.com , for further details.)

Cost: Massage therapy at Benessere costs $75/hour, and $110/hour and a half
(so- with your "dancer discount," it will cost $65/hour, $100/hour and half).

*In the state of Minnesota, massage therapy is covered in cases of workman's compensation, and motor vehicle accidents. If you have questions about this, Nancy, Benessere's office manager, if friendly and helpful, and will be happy to talk you through it. Again, her number: 612.378.WELL (9355)

I look forward to working with you-
Peace,
Megan Flood

15. A survey for teaching artists, a part of the development of the National Performing Arts Convention

Hello Colleagues!
If you get a chance make your voice heard.
Below from the President of MacPhail Center for Music:
Thanks,
Vanessa Voskuil

Colleagues and friends, below is the link to a survey that asks you-as a teaching artist-for your valuable opinions and insights. This survey is part of the development of the National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC) in Denver in June. Most of the nation's performing arts organizations will be there. Some 5000 artists will attend. A major subject will be the teaching artist, how to support your work, the future of this profession, and your needs and goals. As a professional and accomplished artist and educator-a teaching artist-your views are important. Please take just 5 minutes to share them and add to this national conversation.

The Survey is at
