Founded in 1989, Von Heidecke Chicago Festival Ballet (CFB) has steadily grown since its inception at Scotland’s prestigious Edinburgh Festival when Mr. von Heidecke received full funding from a grant from Chicago Artists Abroad. In December 1990, under the sponsorship of Discover Card and the Gaylord Donnelley Foundation, the DuPage Arts Center presented the VHB in its first full-length Nutcracker. Simultaneously, Mr. von Heidecke founded the Von Heidecke School of the VHB in order to offer the highest level of training in classical ballet with a faculty of renowned international artists of the ballet world.
Salt Creek Ballet trains dancers. From the tiniest youngster in our “fairy tale ballet” class, through the pre-professional level and beyond to our teen/adult classes, we offer excellent dance instruction to all our students. Believing that a classical ballet foundation is the basis of any of today’s dance styles, Salt Creek Ballet strives to nurture children and adults alike in the beauty, discipline and art of dance.

Producing at least two fully staged productions each season, Salt Creek Ballet has gained critical acclaim for its quality of dancers and professionalism, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience the majestic beauty of classical ballet at a level usually associated with top companies.
Dance is an art form that takes time and dedication to develop. The School of DanceWest Ballet offers professional instruction, high standards, and a program that allows students to gradually progress according to the level of their individual skills and technique. It is important that each student develops pride, discipline and self-confidence while having fun and facing challenges. We recognize that students are impressionable, therefore, we strive to make each class positive and constructive.
Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts is the dance education arm of Ballet 5:8, a 501-(c)-3 nonprofit organization and professional performance company dedicated to creating and performing honest, relevant, breathtaking dance.
The school’s mission to make high quality dance training accessible to students of all ages, backgrounds and levels of ability, in an environment that nurtures students and allows them to thrive. Whether students take classes for a few years or many, study for fun, or train to pursue professional careers, it is our goal to be a positive influence in students’ lives that can help prepare them for whatever lies ahead.
Since 1981 the school of Rockford Dance Company has been dedicated to providing the best possible dance education in a professional, friendly, and caring atmosphere.
Classes are offered year round for ages 3 to senior citizens. A variety of dance forms are offered for all levels of experience as well as dance related exercise classes. Our state of the art facility houses 5 studios with two way windows for parent observations. Our studios are located at the Rockford Park District’s Riverfront Museum Park on the 2nd floor.
Founded in 1985, Northwest Ballet Academy Ltd. provides quality ballet training for children, teens and adults throughout the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Along with ballet, we offer jazz, modern, character and Pilates training. We have a passion for all genres of dance, but it is our belief that ballet is the foundation of all other forms. That is why we teach proper ballet technique, coupled with a disciplined approach that includes personal correction; live, piano accompaniment; and instruction in ballet vocabulary, history and variations from the classical repertoire.
Gus Giordano Founded Gus Giordano Dance in 1953. Gus’ Jazz Dance legacy continues in his Chicago School at 5230 N Clark St. Train in all styles – Giordano Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary. Gus Giordano Professional & Youth GUS Dancers perform throughout Chicagoland. Gus’ legacy continues under the direction of his daughter, Amy Giordano.
The school is directed by Kerry Hubata and was founded in 1968 by Kerry Hubata and Phyllis Wills. It is dedicated entirely to education in classical ballet and includes work from pre-ballet through professional levels.Students may expect to be offered a sound technical preparation for professional work. At the same time, the school offers classes designed to meet the interest of students who wish to study ballet for personal enrichment and fitness.
