The doors of the Summers Academy of Dance opened in 1996 on Berkshire Drive in Crystal Lake. Since that first day dancers from 18 months old to adults; beginners to professionals have come through our doors to train with our outstanding faculty and experience the joy of dancing.
Our Mission: To assist students in developing scholastic aptitude and excel in life by providing excellent education through various forms of dance and performing arts.
At the Summers Academy of Dance you can find classes for the child, teen, or adult recreational dancer who enjoys dancing once or twice a week for the creative, fun, and physical outlet. Studio Dance Arts offers excellence in dance education throughout northern Ontario and northern Michigan. A wide variety of quality dance programs are available from the beginner through advanced levels. Boys and girls can start as early as 2yrs! Preschool, Kinder, Recreational, Adult and award winning Competitive dance streams of study offer top notch classes in creative movement, combo, ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap & hiphop.
With a diverse and highly qualified faculty of teachers, choreographers and guest artists, the school’s emphasis is on strong dance technique and performance skills. SDA also teaches valuable and important life skills, such as: discipline, dedication, perseverance, respect and team work. Dance training is life training.

For 25 years, Studio One Dance Theatre (SODT) has leaped across the bounds of formal dance education in Chicago, providing technical dance training in an environment that nurtures and supports each student. Our prestigious reputation stems from a talented staff of professional dancers who have an ability to give students the tools needed to excel in the arts, and learn that they can achieve anything. It’s a dynamic vision for children’s dance training that strikes the perfect balance between proper instruction and the pure joy of movement.
“Dance” is the most physically and mentally demanding subject within the Performing Arts. Our professional staff, through their knowledge and love for dance, hope to inspire in our students not only dance technique and style but the determination, dedication, and self discipline that is needed to acquire the rewards in the dance education. It is our feeling that when our students have left the studio, whether it is to pursue a career in dance or not, that he or she has developed a stronger character through self confidence, awareness of themselves physically and mentally a greater sense of responsibility, and a better appreciation of the arts.
Teaching dancers the fundamentals and technique of dance in a fun, caring environment. We offer a wide variety of classes to meet all dancers interests for students ages 3 – adult at a modern dance studio. For the more serious dancer, we offer a highly accomplished competition program. At Spotlight Dance Academy, we teach more than dance but lessons for life. Your dancer will build character, confidence and poise while taking dance classes combined with excellent dance technique. Our highly experienced and passionate dance instructors provide educational and exciting classes.

Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance (RMSD) is a nationally renowned performing arts school featured on WGN and ABC. We are home to the award-winning McDance Company and provide recreational and professional dance training to children beginning at 20 months through adult. The Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance was established in 2003. We strive to create a learning environment that provides both recreational and professional training. Our goal is to train our dancers in a structured and fun atmosphere. Dancers that study under RMSD are provided with the background they will need to succeed in the performing arts. RMSD students gain the confidence needed to succeed in dance, musical theater, poms, cheerleading and other stage productions. Kris Pickar founded KP School of Dance in Sauk City, WI in 2000. KP School of Dance is dedicated to providing an enthusiastic, nurturing, and professional environment for students of all ages. Students are given caring, personalized attention to support their development as dancers. We provide opportunities for all ages and interests by offering a variety of dance styles. From technical movement to the simple joy of self-expression, our students learn to appreciate all aspects of dance. We emphasize technique, quality, and performance in a welcoming atmosphere to prepare students for college-level dance.
