Gus Giordano Founded Gus Giordano Dance in 1953. Gus’ Jazz Dance legacy continues in his Chicago School at 5230 N Clark St. Train in all styles – Giordano Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary. Gus Giordano Professional & Youth GUS Dancers perform throughout Chicagoland. Gus’ legacy continues under the direction of his daughter, Amy Giordano.
DuPage Dance Academy was established over 30 years ago in Elmhurst, Illinois. Our qualified and experienced instructors have taught the art of dance in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and pre-ballet to students ranging from four years old to adults.
Our resident dance company, “Elmhurst Dance Theatre”, provides performing opportunities for intermediate and advanced level students, including our very popular annual “Nutcracker Highlights”, as well as performances with the Elmhurst Symphony and Chicago Dance Slam.
We are quite proud to have many students receive college dance scholarships and move on to professional careers in dance and dance education.
The arts are so important in our society. We at Dancenter North are thankful that we are able to pass on the knowledge and the traditions to the next generations. We are the lucky ones, for the creation of beauty through the arts is the ultimate in human satisfaction.

“Dance” is the most physically and mentally demanding subject within the Performing Arts. Our professional staff, through their knowledge and love for dance, hope to inspire in our students not only dance technique and style but the determination, dedication, and self discipline that is needed to acquire the rewards in the dance education. It is our feeling that when our students have left the studio, whether it is to pursue a career in dance or not, that he or she has developed a stronger character through self confidence, awareness of themselves physically and mentally a greater sense of responsibility, and a better appreciation of the arts.

Under the direction of Béa Rashid, our carefully designed curriculum takes children from the primary levels to pre-professional dance. Our staff is made up of professionals who have years of experience as teachers, performers, and choreographers.
Studio Dance Arts offers excellence in dance education throughout northern Ontario and northern Michigan. A wide variety of quality dance programs are available from the beginner through advanced levels. Boys and girls can start as early as 2yrs! Preschool, Kinder, Recreational, Adult and award winning Competitive dance streams of study offer top notch classes in creative movement, combo, ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap & hiphop.
With a diverse and highly qualified faculty of teachers, choreographers and guest artists, the school’s emphasis is on strong dance technique and performance skills. In our Academy Program, our students advance through a graded curriculum learning core principles and technique. Our teachers are dedicated to providing every student complete preparation for a professional career. We believe that the discipline, focus, strength, and determination gained from our training will also benefit students in any field they choose.
Our Open Program classes are for those students who would like to take advantage of our high level of training without the commitment of a more rigorous schedule of study. These classes allow students to experience all the benefits of dance training. Open classes do not participate in the annual recital with the exception of Hip Hop. Open program classes include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Leaps and Turns.
MDC has served Chicago’s communities for over 20 years under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director Homer Hans Bryant. He founded the Bryant Ballet School and Company in 1990 to create a neoclassical ballet technique which integrates a diversity of dance styles and honors the richness of our varied multicultural heritage. The name of the school was officially changed to Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center in 1997. In 2008 he merged ballet and street dance to create Hiplet™, a new technique featuring hip hop dance in pointe shoes.
