MamLuft&Co. Dance’s dance classes for adults, teens, and kids are about more than learning movement and healthy, active practices: they’re also about problem solving, etiquette, physical awareness, and confidence. We promote gender-inclusive and age-appropriate dance. We focus on growing character without participating in costly dance competitions. We are community-based.
The company approaches movement as a process of investigation, rather than thinking of dance as a vocabulary of actions. While MamLuft&Co. Dance works to make Modern Dance accessible to the general population, ML&Co. also challenges pre-conceived notions of what dance is by searching for authentic, organic, and original movement. MamLuft&Co. Dance’s explorations are led by director Jeanne Sopanha Mam-Luft, whose personal history informs the company processes, as an immigrant and refugee of the Khmer Rouge genocide, as well as an interdisciplinarian of design, architecture, photography, and video.
The mission of our studio is to offer movement opportunities for all ages in a positive environment, as well as instilling a passion for the art of dance and movement. Above all, we (as a faculty) are fully aware of our dramatic impact on the development of each dancer’s self-esteem and personal growth, and responsibility to present ourselves as positive and effective role models for our school.
You are warmly invited to bring your dancing dreams alive with our compassionate faculty, comprised of former dance professionals and certified instructors, often joined by our shining student mentors. We are committed to giving each student careful, personalized attention, for proven individual progress. We believe in providing the highest quality in class offerings; the best value for your investment in your most precious family member: your child. We encourage aspiring dancers to exceed their own artistic dreams, ignited in the tender landscape of childhood. Home to more than 300 registered students from the Black Hills, Western Wyoming and Central South Dakota, the Academy of Dance Arts is the local benchmark for compassionate excellence in dance education.
