Allison, a native of Los Anglos, CA began dancing in L.A. and continued through her elementary years in Nashville, Tennessee. After moving to Minnesota at the age of ten Allison put dance on hold and pursued gymnastics, being a competitive gymnast across the Midwest for four years. Allison joined the dance track again competing on her high school dance team. Throughout high school and the beginning of college, Allison directed and coached for a state champion winning gymnastics organization.

How many girls try out? More every year 50 to 75

What is the average age of dancers? 18 to 28

How many are on the team/make the team? We have sponsorships to take 16 this year!

How often do you perform? 7 Football games, 5 to 6 dance shows. We might do a couple championship games for the Mid America Football League.

Do you compete? We did once at the Mall of America and took first place in the open division! We normally just exhibition.

Where are the practices? At Bally Total Fitness. Locations can change but Wednesdays have been at Richfield and Sundays in St. Paul.

Sheila started dancing ballet and modern at a studio at the age of three. She has danced many places through out Minnesota and has also attended various intensives. She performed in Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker Fantasy for 10 seasons and loves to experiment with as many styles of dance as possible. She joined her high school dance team her sophomore year and became captain as a senior.

One of Regan's fondest childhood memories is dancing around her living room while her sister played the piano. Her mother says she was born to be a dancer, and Regan can't disagree. For the past ten years, she has done everything in her power to make dance a major part of her life.

Because she started late in life, Regan felt that she had a major disadvantage compared to other dancers her age, until she realized that she had something that some of them lacked: passion. She feels that without passion, you can never reach your full potential, or be considered a great dancer. She says, "At the end of the day, you go home alone. You have to live with your performance, or the effort you put into your rehearsal. If you haven't poured your whole heart into it, what was the point?"

Callie is a sophomore at Hamline University where she is studying criminal justice and psychology. Dance has been a part of her life since she was three years old. Most of Callie's training took place at Stage Door of Performing Arts, where she competed in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, tap, and production numbers.

Brianna has been dancing for 19 years. She danced for many years at a studio and then on her high school dance team. She has been teaching dance for five years at a local dance studio in the Twin Cities and takes classes all over. Bri plans to continue to pursue a degree in elementary education and hopes to one day teach kindergarten and open her own studio. Bri likes shopping, animals, dancing, taking classes, and spending time with her family, friends, and dance students. She’s very excited about her first year on the Ascending Star Dance Team.

Karen grew up dancing at ReNance Dance Studio in Minneapolis. Karen was Captain and choreographer for the Southwest Laker Dance team in high school. She is currently in her 5th year as head coach for the MPLS Southwest Laker Dance Team. She is in her 2nd year teaching Hip Hop at Chanhassen Dance and Performing Arts center, where she is a member of their Pro-AM Hip Hop Group. She spent a year working with the Imagine Professional Dance Company. Karen taught for Just For Kix summer camps for two years. She is a caption on the Ascending Star Dance Team. Currently Karen is also dancing with "Hey Sugar Productions".

Sara is a fourth year member of the ASD Dance team. Sara started her dance career at the age of six participating in her local dance studio. She continued on dancing for her high school dance team where she earned all conference honors her senior year. After high school she helped organize the dance team at the College of Saint Catherine, which she has been coaching since she graduated.

Sara Willcutt currently dances for the MLB Milwaukee Brewers Diamond Dancers and teaches dance at the Stoughton Center for Performing Arts. Sara is the Owner of Ascending Star Dance, an Internet Dance Magazine. Her goal is to connect dancers and give them the opportunities and training to succeed.
