I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed-and gazed-but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

10. West African dancer, musicians to perform in Hopkins

Conde started dancing using his hands instead of his feet in order to participate in the coming-of-age ceremony in his village in Guinea, West Africa, where disabled people typically were banished from their homes in order not to bring shame or bad luck upon their family. He became so adept that he traveled to the capital city, recruited an orchestra of artists with disabilities from the city's streets, and began working with popular African musicians. In 2007 the National Endowment for the Arts presented Conde with the National Heritage Award, which recognizes folk artists for their contributions to our national cultural mosaic. His 2008 CD, "Sidiki," was produced by the American Composers Forum in St. Paul

(http://www.innova.mu/artist1.asp?skuID=327). He spends part of each year in Africa and part in New York City, where he is a teaching artist in the schools.
Sidiki will be working in Hopkins, Savage and Minneapolis schools from April 21 to May 2, and some of those students will perform with him in the first portion of the May 3 concert at Hopkins High School Auditorium, 2400 Lindbergh Drive, Minnetonka. Tickets are available in advance or at the door for $15 general admission, $10 for students, seniors and groups. Call 612-332-3888 or 800-801-3883, voice/tty, info@vsaartsmn.org, or go online at www.vsaartsmn.org/donations. The show will be audio described, ASL-interpreted and fragrance-free.

Off-Leash Area brings its sixteenth original work, Border Crossing, to the Ritz Theater. This new work will include a cast of seventeen portraying the desert air, creatures, migrants and political and social voices that create the backdrop for a journey from Mexico into the southwestern United States.

Border Crossing is a story of a resilient little girl who traces her immigrant parents' footsteps across the Arizona/Mexico border, told through the voices of the desert itself. To tell this story, Off-Leash Area focuses on the heightened spirituality of the Sonoran Desert to highlight this human drama, while embracing the complexity of the current political debate. The award-winning company uses its singular hybrid approach of fusing movement and interactive scenic elements to tell the story in a uniquely visual way, incorporating dance influenced by prayer and ritual and puppetry constructed from the flotsam left behind by desperate peoples forced to search for a better life.
