Our studio offers classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary,pre dance and stretch and technique. Classes available for ages 2-18. Our instructors are young and fun, with lots of experience in many different styles! Natyarpana’s mission is to present the rich cultural heritage of India through performances and workshops of Indian classical dance, music and theater. The Company also aims at providing a venue for Wisconsin residents to explore and experience classical Indian arts as a means to reflect upon their own cultural heritage. As part of its outreach mission, Natyarpana serves communities that do not usually have access to ethnic arts or are unable to afford such programs. Apart from a performing dance company, Natyarpana offers workshops, lecture demonstrations at Universities, schools, colleges and corporate organizations.
The North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA) is a service and program agency of the state, established in 1967 by the State Legislature to develop the arts and to promote and support the arts in North Dakota. Grant funds are made available by the National Endowment for the Arts and appropriations from the state of North Dakota. The School of Theatre and Dance at Northern Illinois University provides intensive artistic and academic training for students preparing for careers in theatre and theatre-related areas. The course of study is rigorous and realistic, designed to develop, challenge and broaden the skills and attitudes of all theatre students, but especially the highly motivated student who takes responsibility for his or her own growth.
Our principles are simple. Students perform publicly all four years of the program. Our students have a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, but also the ability to work as an ensemble and treat other artists with respect – this is not only fostered but required. We emphasize in collaboration and NOT Competition!
Founded in 1985, Northwest Ballet Academy Ltd. provides quality ballet training for children, teens and adults throughout the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Along with ballet, we offer jazz, modern, character and Pilates training. We have a passion for all genres of dance, but it is our belief that ballet is the foundation of all other forms. That is why we teach proper ballet technique, coupled with a disciplined approach that includes personal correction; live, piano accompaniment; and instruction in ballet vocabulary, history and variations from the classical repertoire.
As an undergraduate in dance, you'll study composition and choreography in depth as you are challenged to write, research, and analyze the field of dance. At the same time, you'll continue to develop your dance skills with technique classes and performance opportunities.
The foundations of our dance program are contemporary modern dance, which includes the vibrant Jump Rhythm Jazz style, along with ballet and tap. You'll examine the body in motion, explore collaborations in dance and music, and improvise dance as you develop your own vocabulary for composition and choreography.
