With dance at the center of the work, the company’s vision extends to a total action and environment and includes collaboration with practitioners in fields as diverse as architecture, installation, video, sound, and fashion.With full-length works on pressing issues, such as the recent economic recession and the ongoing climate change debate, they have built a reputation for “well-crafted and researched works that don’t hold forth a political agenda, but look instead at how these towering issues reflect back on our own humanity” (New City, which named The Seldoms Best Local Dance Company in 2012).

The Company strives to present choreography that can support a humanistic voice while remaining in the physical world where dance is the primary ingredient; using the full moving body for expression. The Company maintains an ever-evolving body of work that is driven by theatricality, athleticism, tenacity and accessibility for its audience.
Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre (SPDW), led by artistic director Joanna Rosenthal, is a Chicago-based contemporary dance ensemble that has built a strong reputation for work that is evocative, entertaining and engaging. SPDW has received critical acclaim for its varied repertory and powerful performers. SPDW presents the choreography of artists from across the country, both seasoned veterans as well as up-and-coming innovators, with styles that range from classical to post-modern dance. The diverse spectrum of work can range from humorous satire to high-octane virtuosity, but never ceases to delight audiences with performances that are dynamic and inspiring. Contributing artists include Peter Carpenter, Faye Driscoll, Jan Erkert, Carl Flink, Ashleigh Leite, Molly Shanahan, Jeff Hancock, Shirley Mordine, Sam Watson, Shapiro and Smith Dance and to name a few.
Limanya Drum and Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Mandjou Mara and Maya Kadakia, performs traditional music and dance from Guinea and Mali, West Africa. By incorporating song, dance, drum and theatre, Limanya's performances are high-energy entertainment for all audiences. Perfect for schools and community events, Limanya's shows create cultural connections and provide engaging educational experiences. Limanya is composed of a diverse group of dancers and drummers who share a love of African tradition, celebration, and culture.
Choreographer and Movement Coach Maureen Janson based in Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin, is sought after for her enthusiastic approach and her strong ability to collaborate. Her choreographic work covers a stylistically broad range--from period dance to ballroom, to ballet, to abstract gesture and everything in between. She is as comfortable working in an intimate theatre setting as she is in a large-scale concert hall and is experienced with movers and dancers of diverse training and backgrounds.
Maureen is also the publisher/editor of Scoliosis Quarterly print magazine. She the only certified Yoga for Scoliosis trainer in the state of Wisconsin and guides private sessions for those with scoliosis in Madison and Chicago.
Kalaanjali, LLC is a School of Indian Dance in Madison, Wisconsin, and is directed by its founder Meenakshi Ganesan. The name of the school, Kalaanjali, has its roots in two Sanskrit words. "Kala" means "art" and "Anjali" means "to offer". "Kalaanjali", the name of the school, represents the offering of the arts of dance and music.
Kalaanjali's Bharatanatyam students get a rigorous training in the Natyashastras, one of the greatest creations in the field of dance, drama, and theater. While the scope of Natyashastras is well beyond dance, the Natyashastras offer a systematic education in the basic dance steps, hand gestures, foot movements, eye movements, neck movements, rhythms, facial expressions, and the other rules and principles that make up the the foundation of the dancing art.

Minocqua Dance provides a safe and nurturing environment,where you do not just learn dances...you learn how to dance. We provide a variety of classes for 2 years old and up! We provide educated, experienced, friendly instructors who are fun, cultivate creativity and build confidence, attended school for dance, workshops and/or participated in our Student Teacher/Assistant Mentor Program, want to work in a studio that teaches you how to dance, and encourages you to explore the ART of dance. We also provide a clean, safe and organized studio that offers full mirrors, barres and two dance studio spaces with sprung vinyl/rubber floors to support and prevent injuries and video feed into classes to watch students in class.
