Midwest Academy of Dance provides professional dance instruction at prices affordable to middle and lower income participants. For 20 years we have offered classes in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, and modern for all ages & all sizes - beginners to advanced level dancers.
Our studio offers classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary,pre dance and stretch and technique. Classes available for ages 2-18. Our instructors are young and fun, with lots of experience in many different styles! North Shore School of Dance (NSSD) is a professional school with 5 studios in one location. We offer graded classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern and hip-hop. We also offer open classes in Adult Ballet and Modern, Bollywood, and Boys Hip Hop. NSSD boasts a highly qualified professional faculty, along with guest artists from major well-respected dance companies. These faculty members make it possible for the school to offer an extensive program from pre-school to professional.
North Shore Dance in Highland Park, IL The North Shore School of Dance is recognized for our positive educational environment and our contribution to exposing students and their families to the arts. We have continued the tradition of the finest professional dance education in the community for over 40 years.
Founded in 1985, Northwest Ballet Academy Ltd. provides quality ballet training for children, teens and adults throughout the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Along with ballet, we offer jazz, modern, character and Pilates training. We have a passion for all genres of dance, but it is our belief that ballet is the foundation of all other forms. That is why we teach proper ballet technique, coupled with a disciplined approach that includes personal correction; live, piano accompaniment; and instruction in ballet vocabulary, history and variations from the classical repertoire.
Peoria Ballet is a non-profit company celebrating fifty years of providing the finest in dance performance and dance education to Central Illinois. Well known for its annual production of The Nutcracker, the performance features live orchestral music, professional guest artists dancing the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier, and more than 100 of the Academy’s own dancers. Each season also features a full-length theater production in the spring. The Peoria Ballet also collaborates with other arts and non-profit organizations in an effort to ensure the art of dance continues to be strong and vibrant in the community.
Critically acclaimed for their athletic, sensual and dynamic repertoire River North Dance Chicago presents dynamic works that combine athletic prowess and artistic perspective with bold, theatrical flair. Founded in 1989 and under the artistic leadership of Frank Chaves, RNDC demonstrates depth and sophistication with a commitment to creating an accessible, enriching experience for audiences. The company continues to make a name for themselves on the world stage traveling throughout the country and internationally. Core works by Chaves are augmented with an array of pieces by renowned choreographers including Mauro Astolfi, Adam Barruch, Robert Battle, Sidra Bell, Ashley Roland and Nejla Yatkin, among others.
For more than 50 years, Giordano Dance Chicago has brought the excitement of American jazz dance to audiences throughout the United States and in countries around the world — including Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, the Bahamas, Brazil, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. GDC serves as host performing company at Jazz Dance World Congress, which has been held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., at the University at Buffalo, in Japan, Germany, Mexico, Costa Rica, Phoenix, Point Park University in Pittsburgh, and Chicago.
Rockford Dance Company is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Its mission is to pursue excellence in the art of dance through performance, education and outreach.
The performance component of Rockford Dance Company includes a pre-professional company. The company offers several season performances each year and tours locally. Rockford Dance Company performs at various venues throughout the Rockford Community.
Additionally, Rockford Dance Company is devoted to sharing the many benefits of dance with the Rockford community. As part of its outreach program, Rockford Dance Company develops diverse dance programming in partnership with many area organizations, including Stepping Stones of Rockford, Rockford Park District, Rockford Area Arts Council, and Rockford Public Schools.
