The doors of the Summers Academy of Dance opened in 1996 on Berkshire Drive in Crystal Lake. Since that first day dancers from 18 months old to adults; beginners to professionals have come through our doors to train with our outstanding faculty and experience the joy of dancing.
Our Mission: To assist students in developing scholastic aptitude and excel in life by providing excellent education through various forms of dance and performing arts.
At the Summers Academy of Dance you can find classes for the child, teen, or adult recreational dancer who enjoys dancing once or twice a week for the creative, fun, and physical outlet. Studio Dance Arts offers excellence in dance education throughout northern Ontario and northern Michigan. A wide variety of quality dance programs are available from the beginner through advanced levels. Boys and girls can start as early as 2yrs! Preschool, Kinder, Recreational, Adult and award winning Competitive dance streams of study offer top notch classes in creative movement, combo, ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap & hiphop.
With a diverse and highly qualified faculty of teachers, choreographers and guest artists, the school’s emphasis is on strong dance technique and performance skills. SDA also teaches valuable and important life skills, such as: discipline, dedication, perseverance, respect and team work. Dance training is life training.

For 25 years, Studio One Dance Theatre (SODT) has leaped across the bounds of formal dance education in Chicago, providing technical dance training in an environment that nurtures and supports each student. Our prestigious reputation stems from a talented staff of professional dancers who have an ability to give students the tools needed to excel in the arts, and learn that they can achieve anything. It’s a dynamic vision for children’s dance training that strikes the perfect balance between proper instruction and the pure joy of movement.
“Dance” is the most physically and mentally demanding subject within the Performing Arts. Our professional staff, through their knowledge and love for dance, hope to inspire in our students not only dance technique and style but the determination, dedication, and self discipline that is needed to acquire the rewards in the dance education. It is our feeling that when our students have left the studio, whether it is to pursue a career in dance or not, that he or she has developed a stronger character through self confidence, awareness of themselves physically and mentally a greater sense of responsibility, and a better appreciation of the arts.
Teaching dancers the fundamentals and technique of dance in a fun, caring environment. We offer a wide variety of classes to meet all dancers interests for students ages 3 – adult at a modern dance studio. For the more serious dancer, we offer a highly accomplished competition program. At Spotlight Dance Academy, we teach more than dance but lessons for life. Your dancer will build character, confidence and poise while taking dance classes combined with excellent dance technique. Our highly experienced and passionate dance instructors provide educational and exciting classes.
Salt Creek Ballet trains dancers. From the tiniest youngster in our “fairy tale ballet” class, through the pre-professional level and beyond to our teen/adult classes, we offer excellent dance instruction to all our students. Believing that a classical ballet foundation is the basis of any of today’s dance styles, Salt Creek Ballet strives to nurture children and adults alike in the beauty, discipline and art of dance.
Salt Creek Ballet performs. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts carries forward the mission and vision of its founder, international dance icon Ruth Page, to be a platform for developing great artists and connecting them with audiences and community. With a primary focus on dance as a critical art form, its programming ensures that children and dance artists have a place to train, work and perform at the highest level of excellence. Under the aegis of The Ruth Page Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization,The Ruth Page Center has for over 43 years committed its resources to a unique combination of artistic programs that impact over 40,000 children and adults. The Center’s mission not only serves artistic development but also community development. There is no other organization like it in Chicago housed within a single entity with this history, commitment and impact. Located just steps from Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile, Chicago’s shopping, dining and cultural mecca, the historic 1927 building in which The Center resides sits on a lovely tree-lined street in the heart of the Gold Coast.
Since 1981 the school of Rockford Dance Company has been dedicated to providing the best possible dance education in a professional, friendly, and caring atmosphere.
Classes are offered year round for ages 3 to senior citizens. A variety of dance forms are offered for all levels of experience as well as dance related exercise classes. Our state of the art facility houses 5 studios with two way windows for parent observations. Our studios are located at the Rockford Park District’s Riverfront Museum Park on the 2nd floor.
