A Step Above Dance & Music Academy provides its students with self-confidence and feelings of accomplishment through excellent training in all areas of dance and music. Director Tamra Bisbee McKittrick teaches with a faculty of highly-trained and caring teachers who are looking forward to helping you and your child develop a lifelong respect and appreciation for the performing arts. A Leap Above Dance studio teaches ages 3 to adult the art of dance in a fun and friendly atmosphere! We offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, creative movement, and pointe, in one of our three spacious studios.
Welcome to Kay’s Academy of Dance! Established in 1993 as a family oriented dance studio with a goal to provide a fun, friendly and safe learning environment. We limit our class size to maximize the learning experience. We are proud to say we work with all ages and abilities. Our studio is known for our high quality teachers who are gentle and encouraging, yet provide quality training. We offer weekly classes that fit with a typical school schedule. Our classes begin in September and end in May with an annual recital in June. This recital offers the opportunity for students to showcase to their family and friends what they have learned throughout the year. We also offer summer classes that begin in June and end in August.
Studio One prides itself on offering the opportunity for all to dance. Our ultimate goal is for students to develop grace, self-confidence, and creative well-being while encompassing a love for dance.
Performing Dance Academy is committed to its students; we focus on the accomplishments and experiences of EACH dancer! We work hard to introduce and instill self-expression, confidence, discipline and passion in each student. Our goal is to allow all dancers to personally experience dance as an art form, build self-esteem, coordination, creativity, grace, musicality, rhythm, technique, learn dance history, build an appreciation for music/dance and above all… have FUN! We also believe in providing proper & elite dance instruction at an affordable rate.
The Dance Factory & Music Studios is committed to teaching the arts of dance and music through superior industry knowledge of it instructors. That, combined with a genuine love of what we do, encourages the growth of creativity and builds self-esteem on an individual basis. We welcome all students, from the recreational to the serious performer.
Brookfield Center for the Arts, formerly Brookfield Dance Academy, has been a part of the community for 12 years. We are thrilled to share our love for the arts in the areas of dance, music, theatre and education. We believe that nurturing a child’s creative potential stands at the core of preparing them for life. Creative activities are some of the building blocks of child development. So whether children grow to be choreographers or composers, or engineers and educators, encouraging your children to reach their greatest potential is our main goal. Academy of Dance Arts was founded in 1981. Since then we have been fortunate to touch the lives of thousands of children. It is out philosophy that by providing a quality dance education with several opportunities to perform, dancers will build friendships, gain a strong work ethic, and be part of an amazing team. Out staff is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and create a fun balanced classroom. We are proud to be able to foster a love for the arts. We truly love what we do.
“Dance” is the most physically and mentally demanding subject within the Performing Arts. Our professional staff, through their knowledge and love for dance, hope to inspire in our students not only dance technique and style but the determination, dedication, and self discipline that is needed to acquire the rewards in the dance education. It is our feeling that when our students have left the studio, whether it is to pursue a career in dance or not, that he or she has developed a stronger character through self confidence, awareness of themselves physically and mentally a greater sense of responsibility, and a better appreciation of the arts.
MDC has served Chicago’s communities for over 20 years under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director Homer Hans Bryant. He founded the Bryant Ballet School and Company in 1990 to create a neoclassical ballet technique which integrates a diversity of dance styles and honors the richness of our varied multicultural heritage. The name of the school was officially changed to Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center in 1997. In 2008 he merged ballet and street dance to create Hiplet™, a new technique featuring hip hop dance in pointe shoes.
