Midwest Performing Arts provides a professional and encouraging environment in which our students can learn the art of dance while also learning skills needed for a successful life. We believe that introducing and enriching lives in dance is a wonderful gift that will last forever.
Our progressive program offers training in dance technique grounded in Ballet, Modern and Jazz Dance, while also including Tap and Hip Hop styles of dance. It is important as a dancer to have a well rounded education in many different forms of dance. Our schedule and curriculum allow each and every student to learn in many genres.
It is the mission of Madison Contemporary Vision Dance Company to present original and diverse contemporary-based choreography in order to inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds to appreciate a deeper connection to dance as a visual art-form, while also providing a platform for dancers and other artists to come together for resources, education, events, support, and community.
A Step Above Dance & Music Academy provides its students with self-confidence and feelings of accomplishment through excellent training in all areas of dance and music. Director Tamra Bisbee McKittrick teaches with a faculty of highly-trained and caring teachers who are looking forward to helping you and your child develop a lifelong respect and appreciation for the performing arts. A Leap Above Dance studio teaches ages 3 to adult the art of dance in a fun and friendly atmosphere! We offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, creative movement, and pointe, in one of our three spacious studios.
Founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Nick Pupillo, Visceral Dance Chicago is a contemporary dance company dedicated to a bold and progressive world of movement. In less than three years, the company has developed a diverse and respected repertoire. With works by distinguished choreographers Sidra Bell, Mónica Cervantes, Marguerite Donlon, Brian Enos, Robyn Mineko Williams, Banning Bouldin, Harrison McEldowney, Fernando Melo, Ohad Naharin, and Pupillo, Visceral Dance Chicago continues to challenge audiences’ expectations. In January of 2015, Visceral Dance Chicago was named one of Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch, recognizing the company’s accomplishments and potential in the national community. “Visceral Dance Chicago breathes life into the Chicago arts community with their ability to intertwine complex human emotions with the raw beauty of dance and physical movement.” (Chicago Stage Standard)

The School of DanceWest Ballet offers professional instruction, high standards, and a program that allows students to gradually progress according to the level of their individual skills and technique. It is important that each student develops pride, discipline and self-confidence while having fun and facing challenges. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts carries forward the mission and vision of its founder, international dance icon Ruth Page, to be a platform for developing great artists and connecting them with audiences and community. With a primary focus on dance as a critical art form, its programming ensures that children and dance artists have a place to train, work and perform at the highest level of excellence. Under the aegis of The Ruth Page Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization,The Ruth Page Center has for over 43 years committed its resources to a unique combination of artistic programs that impact over 40,000 children and adults. The Center’s mission not only serves artistic development but also community development. There is no other organization like it in Chicago housed within a single entity with this history, commitment and impact. Located just steps from Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile, Chicago’s shopping, dining and cultural mecca, the historic 1927 building in which The Center resides sits on a lovely tree-lined street in the heart of the Gold Coast.
We offer classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop for children ages 3-18 as well as adult yoga and pilates. We pride ourselves in producing well-trained, technical dancers.
